
The Farm was founded in 2010 by local resident Pat Beichler, and is intended to supply the island community with a variety of food staples. Since it inception with the construction of a single goat barn and two goats, it has grown to include a goat dairy, a turkey coop, a hog house, and a chicken coop. Using locally felled trees, the wood has been milled on site to construct all the buildings and fences. There are cows, turkeys, chickens, hogs and goats, which will be (and in some cases already are) providing milk, eggs, cheese, poultry, pork and beef.
