The Board contracts with vendors annually to provide garbage disposal and landscaping. The Board also addresses a variety of issues which may affect the property owners, such as the CBRA insurance concerns and beach re-nourishment.
The Board communicates periodically through newsletters and written messages from the Board president. This redesigned web site is an attempt to greatly improve communication.
The Property Owner’s Association contracts with local providers to supply you with the following services as part of your annual POA fees:
Trash Pick-up
The POA Board has signed a contract to provide trash pick up services. All trash/garbage is to be placed in bags inside a garbage can. You do not have to place your trash container(s) at curb side, unless you prefer to do that and then you must assume responsibility for returning your container(s) to your house. Your trash will be picked up on Mondays and Fridays at the site where your containers are located, providing your storage area is unlocked. No contractor debris will be collected. Recycle bins will be provided for those who wish to participate in the recycle program. If you are not a full time resident of Melrose, please call Bill Scott at Dolphin Shared MGMT Services at 843-298-8620 to let him know when you will be in residence.
Road Maintenance
All roads within Melrose, other than those owned by Red Fish Holdings, are maintained by the POA. This includes root management, storm water drainage and road repair.
Landscaping of common grounds
Property designated as POA common area is maintained and landscaped.
Vehicles
Property owners may keep at their residence personal electric vehicles typically categorized as golf carts (two to six seat) or low speed electric vehicles. All vehicles must be approved by the Melrose POA.
All vehicles operated on the roads within the Melrose POA shall be operated by drivers who possess a valid driver’s license. Drivers are expected to obey all posted regulations including speed limits.
All personal electric vehicles shall have a fixed or flexible windshield, headlights, taillights, brakes and vehicle identification numbers and a top speed as set by the Board of Directors.
Personal vehicles (property owners or guests) with a primary power source of a combustion engine are prohibited in any form unless specifically approved by the Board of Directors.
Vendors may drive a motor vehicle to a home-owners property in order to conduct business between the hours of 7AM and 7PM Monday through Saturday. Vendors may drive a motor vehicle to a home-owners property in order to conduct business between the hours of 9AM and 7PM on Sunday provided such business will be conducted inside and does not produce noise that would disrupt neighbors.
